![]() Attach the FastMount brackets to the mounting surface using hardware (not included) that is appropriate for the type of surface (see figure 4). BE SURE TO LEAVE ENOUGH WIRE AT THE SPEAKER LOCATION TO FEED THROUGH THE TUNNEL IN THE SPEAKER ENCLOSURE AND CONNECT TO THE TERMINALS ON THE FRONT.Ģ. NOTE: TO INCREASE WATER RESISTANCE AND MAKE INSTALLATION EASIER, THE SPEAKER WIRE TERMINALS ARE LOCATED ON THE MARINER SPEAKERS’ FRONT PANEL. Run the speaker wires from the amplifier to the speaker locations and through the holes in the brackets and mounting bases, if used (see figure 3). In most cases you will be able to attach the FastMount brackets directly to the mounting surface. ![]() (IF THE AMP’S AC PLUG IS ACCESSIBLE WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU UNPLUG IT FROM THE WALL OUTLET TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL TURN-ON AND POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE AMPLIFIER.)ġ. WARNING: TURN THE AMPLIFIER’S POWER OFF UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED ALL OF THE CONNECTIONS AND HAVE DETERMINED THAT THEY ARE CORRECT. You can orient the speakers either horizontally or vertically without affecting the sound quality. If you are mounting the speakers above or below ear level, pivot them up or down to direct the sound towards the listeners. The best performance is obtained by placing the speakers at ear level, facing the listeners. The Mariner FastMount bracket system makes it easy to mount the speakers in a variety of positions and locations: (see figure 1). Mariner speakers are highly weather-resistant, and when mounted outdoors will perform exceptionally well for years even under adverse weather conditions. The directions in this manual apply to the following models: MARINER 54, MARINER 54 SST, MARINER 56, MARINER 64, MARINER 64 SST, MARINER 66, and MARINER 86 To get the most out of your new speakers, please read this manual thoroughly before you begin installation. When properly installed, these speakers will give you many years of outdoor entertainment pleasure. That is a price difference of approx $150.Thank you for purchasing Sonance Mariner weatherresistant speakers. My only concern here I feel the price should match the Sonance Mariner 66($650) if the speakers are the same performance and not rip off Sonos customers. Maybe the only advantage is impedance matching. Since this may not be the official specs I am not feeling confident. Also the woofer in the Sonos/Sonance is 6.5" which is the same as the Sonance Mariner 66. Personally, I am more than happy with speakers in $300 pair range, but I've never heard either of the above to tell the difference.Īfter looking at these specs on Crutchfield website then the Sono/Sonance speakers are very similar dimensions as the smaller Sonance 66. With the Sonos speakers you can also use 3 pairs of speakers without needing an external speaker switch for impedance matching. Sonos doesn't show those specs, but you can compare from crutchfield. ![]() It also looks like Sonos has slightly more power that the 86. So basically, the outdoor are tuned to sound like the other Sonos speakers. This also means the indoor models (In-Wall and In-Ceiling) are the only passive speakers to support Sonos’ Trueplay tuning, which tunes the system to the room environment. This is only possible because we designed the speakers from the ground up with Sonance. ![]() ![]() When these speakers are connected to Sonos Amp, the Amp will automatically detect them, and automatically adjust the sound to be best for that speaker. ![]()
